Magical places, indeed. Our trip began on Friday afternoon by car from Barcelona to Ribes de Freser, roughly an hour and a half drive. There, we took the rack railway that brought us up to Vall de Núria, another 40-minute journey. The views are spectacular and captivating from the very first second.
We stayed in the apartments within the hotel, which are super comfortable and well-equipped. The hotel offers options for meals, drinks, and snacks, so after settling in, we took an evening stroll through the valley, enjoyed the indoor game room, and then had dinner.
On Saturday, we spent the day exploring various trails. Some are very easy to walk, even with kids. We also enjoyed the views of the lake, pony rides, and of course, the free and very entertaining playground.
Additionally, we signed up for an activity at the kids’ club (Club de la Marmota), where the little ones had fun coloring and chose a design for face painting. We ended the day with delicious burgers and fries at the hotel bar.
On Sunday, we went on another trail and got to see cows up close, a waterfall, and even some marmots scurrying away quickly. We rode the cable car and visited the farm area, which has turkeys, rabbits, ducks, and even a donkey.
We left enchanted—it was an ideal weekend filled with nature and family fun. Without a doubt, we’ll be back, probably next time to enjoy it in the snow.

Until the next adventure!
Mar.
